MATCH PLAY. Consistent with USGA rules a match consists of one competitor playing against another over a stipulated round unless otherwise decreed by the Committee. In match play the game is played by holes. Except as otherwise provided in the Rules, a hole is won by the competitor that holes his ball in the fewest strokes. In a handicap match, the lower net score wins the hole. The state of the match is expressed by the terms: so many "holes up" or "all square," and so many "to play." The Club established a Match Play Competition in 2008.

Participants are seeded based on handicaps at the beginning of the competition. Matches may be held at any USGA rated course agreed upon by the competitors. At the time of the match competitors shall use their most current handicap.
Match Play Facts
A Match Play competition has been held every year since 2008. For the first 3 years match play participants were seeded based on their handicaps at the start of the competition. Beginning in 2011 seeding will be adjusted to reward the Match Play winner of the previous year with the #1 seed and the runner-up with the #2 seed. All other participants will be seeded based on their handicaps at the start of the competition.
Including the results of 2010 there have been 3 different winners. The record for wins is currently held by TJ Gwizdala (1), Eric Martin (1), and Al Wonn (1). The record for second place finishes is held by Robert Hayes (2) followed by Chad Atkinson (1).
